What kind of Brazilian Drums are there?

Brazilian culture is incredibly diverse and filled with unique instruments and rhythms, representing the ethnic and cultural makeup of different regions in Brazil.

The Atabaque, a multi-ethnic drum, is one of the most well-known instruments and is used in Samba, Capoeira, Barravento, and many other cultural expressions.

The Agogo, Alfaia, Pandeiro, Caxixi, Surdo, and many other instruments are used in various regional styles from Maracatu to Samba de roda. These instruments are created with traditional materials and techniques, passed down through generations. They create polyrhythmic essence which permeates Brazilian Music.
